Ready for something new? Have we got some great news for you!
Earlier this year, you were asked to share your ideas for programs and activities you’d like to see. We had a great response to that survey. Some of the requests were for techniques you wanted to learn or things you want to do that don’t really fit as a traditional workshop.
The answer? DEMO DAYS!
These will be days when talented members in our own guild will demonstrate something. These won’t exactly be “classes” and the “Demos” really aren’t very involved. Best of all- they will be FREE!
They will be on a Friday or a Saturday at Aloha Sew and Vac. You can just come in the morning for the demo or stay all day and work on the project. They will typically start at 10:00 am with the instruction in the morning. After that, you can go about your day, or stay and make whatever was demonstrated for yourself. These days will be a great opportunity to learn, make new friends, and have FUN! Think of them as a cross between Sewing Saturday and a mini workshop.
There may be rare times when you will need to purchase a pattern, but there will never be a charge for Demo Day. And there will be many times when you will get free “goodies” to use. All we ask is that you register so we know how many people to expect.

2024 Demo Days:
Saturday, Nov 2 Sue Hauser will demonstrate how to make a “15 minuteTable Runner” plus holiday and party lights with a strand of mini lights and a pile of scraps. Use Halloween, Christmas, birthday or any other fabric scraps to make a festive, fluffy, fantastic strand of decorative lights. Feel free to bring your own scraps, but there will be a BOATLOAD of them for the taking- mostly Christmas, some fall, Easter, Halloween, patriotic, and juvenile. See the printable info sheet below for all the info — super simple, and fun!

***Important Info when registering for Workshops: ***
We use a 2-step on-line registration process to enroll in workshops. Please remember that you need to have paid your membership dues for the current year in order to be eligible to attend a workshop.
The process is as follows:
- Click on the workshop link button above (right below the workshop description) and you will be directed to complete a registration form which is submitted to the Registrar.
- The registrar will review your request and if there is room in the workshop an email will be sent to you which gives you a link to make payment through the portal. If not, you will be placed on a wait list. Please remember that you are not registered in the class until you make payment and receive a confirmation email and receipt.
If you need assistance to register or to pay by check or cash, please contact the registrar directly to make arrangements.
Workshop Cancellation Policy
If a participant finds it necessary to cancel, they need to contact the registrar as soon as possible so the seat may potentially be offered to someone else. If the cancellation is 3 weeks or more prior to the workshop, a refund will be issued. If it is less than 3 weeks prior to the workshop, no refund will be issued. However, the member cancelling may gift or sell their space to the next person on the waiting list. If there is not a waiting list they can gift or sell to a person of their choosing.
Non-Member Participation in Workshops
Workshops are offered to members at a very reasonable cost, as a benefit of membership. Members will be given the first opportunity to register. For most workshops, three weeks prior to the workshop, IF space is available, non-members will be permitted to register at a slightly higher cost. This is subject to the discretion of the Program Chair and Registrar.
