In this two-day workshop, you’ll explore the techniques used to create a portrait quilt.
Working from a cropped section of your own photograph, you’ll learn how to:
• Transform your photo into a line drawing to use as a pattern
• Understand the importance of color value when selecting your fabric palette
• Apply raw-edge fused appliqué and thread illustration techniques
A digital image must be emailed to the instructor 2 weeks before class to ensure the best results. More information will be included in your supply list (which you will receive after paying for your registration).
Your registration cost includes a kit, which includes two copies of your photograph, a Mylar sheet, tracing paper, and a helpful handout to guide you through the process.
The finished quilt will measure approximately 8” x 10”.
