Cats and Dogs Fabric Collage
***One Day Class***
Tuesday, August 19, 2025
9am- 4pm
Aloha Sewing & Vacuum
7550 E. Main St.
Hillsboro, OR 97123
Members- $45

For this 1-day workshop Jane encourages students to watch her video and make a pattern of their dog or cat before class – See video: Click Here . This will allow them to spend more time working
on the collage in class. If you are not happy with your pattern, or if you register for the class at the last minute, you may spend time in class making a pattern of your pet and
watch all of the demonstrations on the collage technique throughout the class. In this case, you will need to have your photo enlarged and bring it to class. As an alternative,
Jane will have a few patterns of cats and dogs with her, that you could use. This would give you an opportunity to learn the fabric collage technique, and work it out on a small
project before embarking on your own portrait of their own pet at a later date.
Using a photo of a pet enlarged to about a 20” size we will use a variety of fabrics and we will trace and fussy cut these fabrics and apply in Jane’s raw edge fabric collage
technique. A close up of your pets face probably works best. Jane will give guidance on making the enlargement approx. 200% before the class which will be used as the
pattern. (See video: Click Here ).
FYI…In a 1-day class students will only complete about a quarter to a half of the collage and will not need a sewing machine. Jane will give guidance on stitching and finishing
the quilt.
